Angelika Klas, Soprano
Angelika Klas graduated from the Sibelius-Academy in 2002. In Addition to her finnish teachers Jaakko Ryhänen and Marjut Hannula she has studied with Bonaldo Giaiotti and Teresa Berganza.

Angelika Klas is known as an especially charismatic performer and a strong interpreter. She has an exceptionally wide repertoire: In addition to the basic repertoire of a lyric soprano she is specialized in Astor Piazzolla’s strong and dramatic tango music. Her repertoire also consists of orchestra- and chamber music, contemporary music and operetta- and stage music.

Angelika Klas has performed in several operatic roles: Bizet’s Carmen(Carmen), Dvorak’s Rusalka (Princess), Offenbach's Orfée aux enfers (Eurydike), Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas (Aeneas), Piazzolla’s Maria de Buenos Aires (Maria), Kálman’s Countess Mariza (Mariza) and in several roles in finnish contemporary operas. In 2006 and 2007 she performed as a soloist at the international Opera Festival in Savonlinna. In 2008 she performed at Moscow's Novaya Opera and St. Petersburg's Mihhailovski Opera.In 2011 she made her debut at the Finnish National Opera.

She has performed at many international festivals; such as Birgita-festival, Kuhmo chamber music festival, Korsholm music festival and Helsinki festival. She has performed as a soloist with most finnish symphony orchestras.

Angelika Klas performs actively both in Finland and abroad with the well known Tango-and entertainment orchestra Guardia Nueva and the exceptionally virtuoso tango quintet Tanguedia Quintet. She has released records with both of these exceptional tango orchestras.

Her next record “Tango - my destiny” together with Tanguedia Quintet will be released in October 2012.
